Past Projects & Insights

At MDC Geospatial, we bring a wealth of experience from diverse, large-scale projects across Ireland, combining expertise in surveying, GIS, and geospatial technologies to deliver high-quality results. Below are examples of significant past projects that form the foundation of the expertise we apply at MDC Geospatial.

N2 Road Development (Ardee to Castleblayney & Clontibret to Border)

A large-scale 28 km topographical survey aimed at enhancing North/South connectivity and improving road safety along key sections of the N2.

N2 Rath Roundabout to Kilmoon Cross

An 8 km survey aimed at improving journey times, reducing stop-start traffic, and enhancing time predictability as part of the National Development Plan (2018-2027).

Renewable Energy Grid Connection

Route Survey for Renewable Energy Company. Providing a detailed survey for the grid connection route of a renewable energy project, working closely with the client to assess the most efficient and feasible path. Using topographical and GIS data, we helped identify key considerations such as flood risk and infrastructure integration, ensuring the project met regulatory and environmental requirements while staying on track for timely completion.

N70 Glanbehy Bridge Road Project

Conducted a survey for the realignment of a 1.5 km section of road to remove sharp bends, improving safety and reducing collision risks, particularly on the approach to Glenbeigh National School.

Bog Rehabilitation

Provided detailed setting out based on engineering team specifications, guiding rehabilitation efforts during the construction of this environmental rehabilitation project.

Historical Flood Mapping

We conducted historical flood mapping to provide critical insights for proposed infrastructure routes, utilising Sentinel-1 radar and satellite data. This approach allowed us to analyze past flood events and assess flood risk along potential routes, helping the client make informed decisions about infrastructure design and placement while minimizing environmental impact.
